Privileged action execution via intent redirection
Published Apr 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Intent redirection in Samsung Gallery before 5.4.16.1 allows local users to execute privileged actions through a crafted Android intent. An improperly exported Android component accepts an attacker-controlled intent and redirects it into Gallery's privileged application context. A malicious app on the same Galaxy device can reach the component without prior privileges or user interaction; Samsung discloses no more specific action.
