Arbitrary file access via unchecked provider paths
Published Apr 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in StickerCenter on Samsung Mobile Devices P(9.0) and Q(10.0) allows local users to read or write system-process files. The unprotected StickerCenter content provider accepts attacker-controlled paths from untrusted applications without a proper caller check. A malicious application installed on an affected device can cross the provider boundary to access files held with the system process's privileges.
