CVE-2021-25344

Local serial-number disclosure via unchecked service API

Published Mar 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Missing authorization in Samsung Mobile Devices on Android 10 and 11 allows local users to read the device serial number. The knox_custom service exposes its serial-number retrieval API without checking the caller's required permission. A locally executing application can invoke the API without prior privileges; the documented consequence is disclosure of the serial number only.
