Balance disclosure via unauthenticated lock-screen QR scan
Published Mar 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in Samsung Pay mini before 4.0.14 allows physically proximate attackers to view balance information from the lock screen. The lock-screen flow exposes the balance after a specific QR code is scanned without first enforcing device authentication. Physical proximity to a locked device and interaction to scan the QR code are required; the reported consequence is limited to balance disclosure.
