CVE-2021-25328Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated device crash via oversized IpAddr parameter

Published Apr 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Buffer overflow in the RN510 3.1.0.4 web interface allows remote authenticated users to crash the device via an oversized IpAddr value. The Boa server's /cgi-bin/app-staticIP.asp handler accepts the oversized value without sanitizing or bounding it, triggering SIGSEGV and permitting register control. A valid web-session cookie is required; the disclosure demonstrates the crash and register control but does not demonstrate arbitrary code execution.
