CVE-2021-25270

Local privilege escalation via manipulated file structure

Published Oct 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Local privilege escalation in Sophos HitmanPro.Alert before Build 901 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as administrator. Build 901 notes say crafted malware can manipulate a file structure, but Sophos does not identify the affected parser or validation failure. Exploitation requires local code execution and yields administrator-level arbitrary code execution; no remote path or separate data exposure is reported.
