Code execution via unchecked stack-buffer copy
Published Jan 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Open Design Alliance Drawings SDK before 2021.11 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted drawing file. The DXF and DWG parser fails to validate a user-supplied length before copying data into a fixed-length stack buffer during recovery. Exploitation requires a target to open a malicious drawing or visit attacker-controlled content, after which code runs in the current process or the application crashes.
