Local file access via getvideodata_func path traversal
Published Jan 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in HPE Cloudline BMC firmware allows local users to read or alter files through spx_restservice getvideodata_func. The function accepts a pathname that escapes its intended directory boundary, exposing arbitrary filesystem paths to the caller. Local access to the BMC is required; the record does not document remote reachability or a narrower impact than file disclosure and modification.
