Published Jan 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer overflow in HPE Cloudline Gen9 and Gen10 server BMC firmware allows local users to compromise the management controller. The spx_restservice downloadkvmjnlp_func function copies locally supplied data without checking its size against the destination buffer. Low-privileged local access is required; successful overflow can compromise BMC confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
