Stored XSS via unescaped error-log rendering
Published Feb 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in WP Photo Album Plus before 8.0.10 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The plugin records attacker-controlled search content in its error log and renders that log in the Miscellaneous settings page without safe output encoding. No authentication is required to plant the payload, but an administrator must open the logging section for the script to run in the administrator's session.
