Administrator-session script execution via unescaped POST fields
Published Feb 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall before 4.20.94 lets remote authenticated users run script in an admin’s browser. The GOTMLS settings page writes attacker-controlled POST field names into HTML attributes without sanitizing or escaping them. Exploitation requires an administrator to obtain the page-specific GOTMLS_mt value and induce another logged-in administrator to submit the crafted form, enabling script execution in that victim’s WordPress session.
