Stored XSS via unsanitized portfolio project title
Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in WPSofts GridKIT Portfolio before 2.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in visitors' browsers. The crp_save_portfolio AJAX action accepts a subscriber-supplied, Base64-encoded project title without adequate authorization, sanitization, or output escaping and stores it for rendering in an embedded portfolio. Exploitation requires a subscriber account, an existing portfolio embedded in a page, and a visitor who opens that page; the script runs with access to data and actions available to the visitor's browser session.
