Browser script execution via unescaped restore parameter
Published Feb 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Team Updraft UpdraftPlus before 1.16.69 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through a crafted restore link. The Restore page writes the updraft_restore request parameter into its HTML response without sanitizing or escaping it. Execution requires a logged-in site user to open the attacker-crafted link; the injected script runs in that user’s browser and WordPress session.
