Unauthenticated protected-file disclosure via unchecked REST endpoints
Published Mar 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in W3 Eden WordPress Download Manager before 3.2.35 allows remote attackers to disclose protected data through REST endpoints. The /wp-json/wpdm/search route returns protected post passwords in plaintext, while /wp-json/wpdm/validate-password issues a master key without checking authorization. No account is required, and the issued key enables downloads whose password or role restrictions should deny access.
