Admin-context script execution via stored Referer
Published May 2, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Advanced Page Visit Counter before 6.1.2 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The visit logger stores an attacker-supplied HTTP Referer value, and the detailed-report dashboard renders it without sanitization or output escaping. No authentication is required to seed the value, but an administrator must view the affected article's detailed report to trigger execution.
