Post deletion and settings changes via nonce-free AJAX
Published Feb 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in AJAX actions in Saidur Rahman Milon's WP Google Map Plugin before 1.8.4 allows remote attackers to delete posts or change settings. The wpgmapembed_remove_wpgmap and wpgmapembed_save_setup_wizard handlers accept state-changing POST requests without verifying an anti-CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit attacker-controlled content, whose browser then submits the request with the active WordPress session.
