Stored XSS via improperly escaped category parameters
Published Jan 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Webnus Modern Events Calendar Lite before 6.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through category creation. The mec_popup_event_category AJAX action stores mec_cat_color and related category parameters, then outputs them with incorrect escaping in the admin category view. Subscriber access suffices; execution requires an administrator to open the injected category, enabling script execution in that browser.
