Administrator-session script execution via unescaped effects parameter
Published Jan 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Oxilab Image Hover Effects Ultimate before 9.7.1 allows remote attackers to run script via a crafted admin-page URL. The support admin page inserts the effects query parameter into an HTML attribute without escaping, allowing injected event-handler markup to execute. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to follow the crafted URL; the script then runs in that administrator's browser under the affected site's origin.
