Subscriber post deletion via unprotected AJAX actions
Published Feb 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in WP Google Map Plugin before 1.8.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete posts or change plugin settings. Most AJAX action handlers accept Subscriber-level requests without enforcing an administrative capability, and missing nonce checks permit forged requests. A Subscriber account is sufficient for direct abuse; the CSRF path requires an authenticated user to act on attacker-controlled content.
