Administrator-session script execution via unescaped course_id
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in pgogy MOLIE 0.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser via course_id. The plugin outputs the course_id request parameter in the WordPress administration dashboard without HTML escaping, allowing supplied markup to become executable page content. Exploitation requires an administrator to open a crafted dashboard request, and successful execution acts with that administrator's browser session and origin privileges.
