Stored XSS via unescaped remote-storage account name
Published Feb 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in WPvivid Backup & Migration before 0.9.69 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser. The Google Drive and OneDrive remote-storage callbacks accept an unauthenticated name parameter and store it without adequate sanitization before embedding it unescaped in the plugin administration page. Execution requires an administrator to open the WPvivid page, where the payload runs in that privileged browser context and can act on or read accessible site data.
