Subscriber-level catalog tampering via unchecked AJAX actions
Published Feb 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Ultimate Product Catalog before 5.0.26 allows remote authenticated users to add products or alter settings via AJAX requests. The ewd_upcp_welcome_add_product and ewd_upcp_welcome_set_options handlers accept POST data without capability or nonce checks. Subscriber access is sufficient to create arbitrary catalog entries and change plugin configuration.
