Admin-triggered reflected XSS via AJAX parameter
Published Feb 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster before 1.3.8.5 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser via AJAX. The wpassetcleanup_fetch_active_plugins_icons AJAX action reflects POSTed parameters without sanitizing or escaping them. Exploitation requires an administrator to access a crafted request, enabling script execution in that administrator's WordPress session without directly changing server data.
