CVE-2021-24978Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated post deletion via unprotected AJAX action

Published Mar 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Missing authorization in OSMapper 2.1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary WordPress posts through an AJAX request. The ba_map_ajax_handler action is exposed through wp_ajax_nopriv and passes an attacker-supplied post ID to its deletion path without authorization, CSRF, or post-type checks. No account or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation removes attacker-selected blog content.
