Administrator script execution via unescaped AJAX input
Published Jan 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Gemini Labs Site Reviews before 5.17.3 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser. The glsr_action AJAX handler accepts the site-reviews parameter without sanitizing or escaping it and stores attacker-controlled markup for later output. Exploitation is unauthenticated, but script execution occurs only when a logged-in administrator opens the plugin's Tools dashboard, exposing that browser session to attacker-supplied actions.
