Subscriber-level FAQ creation via unchecked AJAX actions
Published Jan 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Etoile Web Design Ultimate FAQ Accordion Plugin before 2.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to create FAQ content. The ewd_ufaq_welcome_add_faq and ewd_ufaq_welcome_add_faq_page handlers accept submitted content without capability or CSRF checks. Subscriber access is sufficient; exploitation writes attacker-chosen FAQ questions or a new WordPress page, with no reported confidentiality or availability impact.
