Arbitrary file clearing via unchecked log path
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
External path control in BestWebSoft Error Log Viewer 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to erase arbitrary file contents. The Log Monitor handler accepts the rrrlgvwr_clear_file_name POST value as a filesystem path and empties the referenced file without constraining it to configured logs. Administrator-level WordPress access and a valid nonce are required; writable files outside the site directory can be reduced to zero bytes.
