Subscriber-level stored XSS via unsanitized schedule data
Published Jan 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Five Star Restaurant Reservations before 2.4.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in administrators' browsers. The rtb_welcome_set_schedule AJAX action accepts a crafted schedule_open JSON key without capability or CSRF checks, then stores and renders it without sanitization or escaping. Subscriber access is sufficient, but execution requires a logged-in administrator to open the plugin settings page; the demonstrated impact is script execution in that browser.
