Administrator-session script execution via unescaped dashboard attribute
Published Dec 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in ProfilePress before 3.2.3 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser via a crafted dashboard request. The admin dashboard handler copies the unsanitized ppress_cc_data request value into an HTML attribute without context-appropriate escaping. Exploitation requires an administrator to open the crafted request; injected script runs in that dashboard origin and can read or modify data available to that session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
