Reflected XSS via unescaped admin-page attribute
Published Feb 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Gabe Livan Asset CleanUp before 1.3.8.5 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser via a crafted URL. The admin settings page writes the wpacu_selected_sub_tab_area query parameter into an HTML attribute without escaping it. Exploitation requires an administrator to open the crafted URL; injected script then runs with that administrator's WordPress session privileges.
