Authenticated script execution via unescaped AJAX prefix
Published Feb 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Kalmang Dynamic Widgets 1.5.16 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a crafted AJAX request. The term_tree action inserts the prefix parameter into an HTML attribute without escaping, so event-handler markup becomes executable output. Exploitation requires an authenticated WordPress session and user interaction; injected script runs with that browser session's site privileges.
