Authenticated reflected XSS via unescaped AJAX callback
Published Nov 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in the MyCalendar WordPress plugin before 3.2.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute browser script via a crafted request. The mc_post_lookup AJAX action returns the attacker-controlled callback parameter in the AJAX response without sanitizing or escaping the value. Any authenticated account can reach the action, but a victim must load the crafted response for script execution in the WordPress origin.
