Browser script execution via unescaped statistics date
Published Jan 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Brevo plugin for WordPress before 3.1.25 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim browser via crafted statistics requests. The sib-statistics-date parameter is copied into an HTML attribute without escaping, allowing injected event-handler markup to run when a victim loads the response. Exploitation requires a victim to submit or follow the crafted statistics request, and the demonstrated impact is script execution in that browser context.
