Contributor-level script execution via unescaped redirect fields
Published Nov 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Nikki Blight QR Redirector before 1.6.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a viewer's browser. The plugin stores unsanitized content from the redirect URL and admin-notes fields and later emits it into HTML without context-appropriate escaping. Contributor access is sufficient to save the payload, and execution requires another user, including an administrator reviewing the redirect, to view the affected content.
