Contributor content disclosure via shortcode status override
Published Dec 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in Improved Include Page 1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary WordPress content. The include-page shortcode accepts attacker-controlled allowtype and allowstatus attributes and uses them to select private, draft, or custom-post-type content without enforcing publication status. Contributor access is sufficient to embed the crafted shortcode and disclose content that the account cannot otherwise view.
