Contributor post disclosure and modification via unchecked requests
Published Nov 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Bulk Datetime Change before 1.12 allows remote authenticated users to read private titles and alter post dates. The wp-admin Bulk Datetime Change handler accepts submitted post IDs and replacement timestamps without verifying the caller's capability for the targeted posts. Contributor access is sufficient; exploitation exposes other users' private post titles and changes publication ordering without granting broader site control.
