Unauthenticated post disclosure via unvalidated query variables
Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authorization bypass in Code Supply Co. Squaretype before 3.0.4 allows remote attackers to read private and scheduled posts. The /wp-json/csco/v1/more-posts endpoint accepts attacker-controlled query_vars, including post_status, and uses them to select posts without validating the requested visibility. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of nonpublic post content rather than modification or service interruption.
