Subscriber-level settings modification via unchecked admin POST
Published Dec 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in StoreApps Temporary Login Without Password before 1.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter plugin settings. The wp-admin index request accepts tlwp_settings_data with an arbitrary wtlwp-nonce value without validating the nonce or checking the caller's capability. Subscriber access is sufficient to change default roles, visible roles, expiry, and redirection settings; the published proof of concept demonstrates settings modification only.
