Arbitrary file deletion via unprotected delete-file action
Published Feb 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in Schiocco Support Board before 3.3.6 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files through a logged-in administrator. The delete-file action in include/ajax.php passes a caller-supplied path directly to unlink when the value lacks "http," without a CSRF check. An administrator must submit or load the forged request; deleting wp-config.php permits WordPress reinstallation and subsequent code execution.
