CVE-2021-24810Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped Field Editor settings

Published Mar 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored XSS in Field Editor settings in WP Event Manager before 3.1.23 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in a victim's browser. The plugin stores the Placeholder / Options value and inserts it into the Field Editor page without output escaping, leaving HTML and script syntax executable. Administrator-level access is required, unfiltered_html must be disabled, and another user must revisit the page; the script then runs with that user's WordPress session privileges.
