Administrator settings changes via nonce-less save
Published Nov 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Far Future Expiry Header before 1.5 allows remote attackers to alter settings through an administrator. The settings handler for wp-admin/options-general.php?page=ffe_plugin_options processes ffe_save_settings POST data without validating a nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to load attacker-controlled content; the forged request can change expiry and gzip options that control .htaccess updates.
