Administrator SQL injection via unescaped log sorting
Published Jan 3, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025
SQL injection in WP Chill Download Monitor before 4.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute SQL through the logs page. The logs view inserts the orderby GET parameter into a SQL statement without proper validation or escaping, and a crafted value reaches the query's ORDER BY clause. An Administrator-level account and at least one existing log entry are required; the published proof of concept demonstrates a time-delayed database query.
