Unauthenticated stored XSS via unchecked AJAX settings write
Published Feb 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in the Perfect Survey WordPress plugin before 1.5.2 allows remote attackers to execute script in survey viewers. The unauthenticated save_global_setting AJAX action accepts ps_global_options without authorization or CSRF validation and stores unsanitized custom CSS. A survey view triggers the injected script in that viewer's browser, while the same request can also edit surveys and global settings.
