Authenticated SQL injection via unescaped sort parameters
Published Sep 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in StopBadBots before 6.60 allows remote authenticated users to read or modify database data through crafted dashboard requests. The plugin passes the order and orderby GET parameters from three wp-admin dashboard pages into SQL statements without validation or escaping. Any authenticated account able to reach those pages can inject database expressions, and the published proof of concept demonstrates a time-delay query.
