Arbitrary comment deletion via CSRF
Published Sep 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-Site Request Forgery in QuantumCloud Comment Link Remove and Other Comment Tools before 2.1.6 allows remote attackers to make logged-in administrators delete arbitrary comments via a crafted request. The plugin's Delete comments easily action accepts a state-changing POST without a CSRF token, so a victim administrator's browser can submit the deletion while authenticated. Exploitation requires the administrator to visit attacker-controlled content, and the demonstrated consequence is comment deletion rather than data disclosure or code execution.
