Stored script execution via unsanitized course settings
Published Oct 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in course settings in LearnPress before 4.1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into course pages. The External Link, Requirements, Target Audience, Key Features, and FAQ Title fields store markup without adequate sanitization or output escaping. Administrator-level course-editing access is required, and exploitation applies when unfiltered_html is disabled; opening the affected content executes the stored script in a viewer's browser.
