Script execution via unescaped statistics parameters
Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Simple Download Monitor before 3.9.5 allows remote attackers to execute injected script in an administrator's browser. The statistics page writes the sdm_active_tab GET value and sdm_stats_start_date or sdm_stats_end_date POST values into HTML attributes without escaping. An authenticated administrator must load the crafted statistics request; the injected script then runs with that administrator's browser privileges.
