Admin data changes via missing nonce checks
Published Jan 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Tips and Tricks HQ Simple Download Monitor before 3.9.9 allows remote attackers to alter admin-managed data. The log export, log reset and trim handlers and the sdm_remove_thumbnail_image AJAX action accept state-changing requests without enforcing WordPress nonces. An administrator must visit attacker-controlled content while authenticated; resulting requests can export or erase logs or detach a download thumbnail.
