Administrator file disclosure via attachment path traversal
Published Feb 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Origin Code Contact Forms 1.0.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files. The submission-attachment download request uses the unvalidated file parameter as a server-side path, so parent-directory sequences escape the upload location. Administrator-level access and an existing form submission with an uploaded attachment are required; successful exploitation discloses any file readable by the web server account.
