CVE-2021-24684Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via Ghostscript compression parameter

Published Oct 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

OS command injection in TeamLead Power PDF Light Viewer before 1.4.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands during PDF import. The import workflow passes the user-controlled JPEG compression value into a Ghostscript command without sufficient shell escaping, so metacharacters add arbitrary commands. Author-level WordPress access and a Ghostscript-backed import are required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the web server process's privileges.
